We invite you to Come Grow With Us.
Our Mission is to serve the poor and suffering within the boundaries of our parish.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international organization with over 800,000 members in 149 countries.
Membership in the Society is a vocation, a commitment "to follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to his compassionate and liberating love." No work of charity is foreign to the Society. members, called Vincentians, visit the poor and needy in their homes and offer assistance that "alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity in all their dimensions."
Because the Conference is totally comprised of volunteers our overhead is very small when compared to other nonprofit organizations. The parish generously provides us with office space and covers all of the overhead expenses intrinsic in having a physical location.
Our consumable office expenses are covered by Vincentians' donations and Regional dues are paid to the Austin Councils that each Conference is required to pay.
But frequently our knowledge of SVdP is limited to the fact that collected funds are used to help the poor. While that is indeed true, the Society is so much more.
All members of the parish are invited to join us. If you feel called to personally serve the poor and needy please consider becoming a member.

Are generally held at 6:30 PM in the Religious Education building on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.
During July and August, SVdP meets just once a month.
The 1st Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Religious Education Building.
All members of the parish are invited to join us.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians "see the face of Christ".
Thank you to all our parishioners who so generously contribute funds to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Because of your support we can give food to the hungry, help with utility, rent, water, and medical/Rx bills, etc.
In keeping with the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) that “No work of charity is foreign to the Society and includes promoting human dignity” the Santa Rosa Conference of SVdP accepted a new role in its work of Charity. When working with the Counselor of Florence Elementary School we learned that the Counselors of the Florence Middle and High School were spending their own money to give the students water and a snack when they came to their offices. To assist the Counsellors SVdP has provided bottled water and healthy snacks from Sam’s.
The Counselor tells us the snacks provided throughout this school year “have been a huge blessing for our counselors and students. The students feel more at ease speaking to the counselor when offered a snack/drink during the check-in. They have also been a blessing to those students that might have arrived late and missed breakfast. FISD is greatly appreciated by your generosity! If SVdP decides to continue with the assistance next school year, we would be thankful for that!”
On March 6, 2025, at a Santa Rosa de Lima SVdP meeting the Conference members voted unanimously to continue the program next year. Funds for the program come from dedicated donations and assistance from the Austin SVdP Council.
"No act of charity is foreign to the Society."
The main work of the Society is to offer financial assistance to individuals through our home visit program. Those needing assistance should call our service number 254.317.2891. A trained Vincentian will answer or call back to conduct an initial intake. Following the intake process two Vincentians will conduct a home visit to determine how we may best assist. All calls are confidential.
